The volunteer Phone Coordinators are currently scheduled to serve one week per month. Time involved each day is usually less than one hour. Training will be provided. Responsibilities include:

  1. Calling the answering machine once a day to retrieve any messages. This may be done from a home phone.
  2. Going to the Volunteer Center office that is located at Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook (3100 West Lake Ave. Glenview. 847-724-2620) There is usually someone in these offices between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. At the Volunteer Center desk, the following tasks are done:
    • record any calls on an Intake Sheet;
    • return any calls to gather more complete information from the potential volunteer;
    • search the database for three referrals;
    • print agency information and mail a packet to the poetential volunteer.
    Note: Once training has been completed, the tasks in step 2 may be done from home if you have Internet access.
